Acrylic, oil and oxidized gold metal leaf on canvas

 

This painting was a creation of pure intuitive exploration. I began by covering the canvas in gold metal leaf and applying liquids and salt in natural patterns which created the bright red and aqua oxidization. Then adding in black paint to break up the pattern.... and then it sat for years until one day when I was learning to use oil paints I was drawn back to the canvas and started painting in the owl who called out through my intuition. There's a very deep message in the images I added to the owl, the compass and it's reading and the Seven Sisters star system within the eye. Seven is my number, but I didn't know I had chosen these symbols of seven until after they were added in... what does it all mean exactly? I'm yet to discover the totality of the magic hidden within this piece!

Returns

Carly works hard to have clear and accurate photos, but colour nuances cannot be captured perfectly by digital media and vary from screen to screen. If you just aren't sure about the painting or its colours, she will be happy to send more photos with close ups. Please be sure you love the painting before you purchase it as Carly cannot accept a return if it doesn't match or you change your mind.

If a painting is damaged during shipping, Carly can work out a return and refund with you.
